The Bariatic Hospital Beds Mattresses
are made by Blue Chip Medical Hospital Bed Bariatric Mattress - the Specialist in Sleeping Surfaces for the Medical Industry. Per my request they have designed a special Bariatric Mattress for Sleep Centers that will support the "heavy weight" and yet be comfortable for the average person. The mattress is 8" thick that is the max for an adjustable bed. The bottom 1/2 of the mattress is flexible hard core and the upper part is special foam. This means that the mattress will not bottom out when a Bariatric patient sleeps in the bed. The mattress will have a water resistant Anti Bacterial washable cover which you need for hospitals.
I use Gendron as a supplier for most of the Bariatric equipment that is needed. This is a company that has been manufacturing equipment since 1872. Gendron has recognized the need and has been manufacturing Bariatric Equipment at a reasonable cost. An exceptional company, very reliable and makes excellent equipment.

Hospital Beds with as much as 1000 pounds weight capacity. Hopefully you will never have to deal with that weight patient. Most Medical Facilities are upgrading their equipment just in case they have a seriously overweight patient. There are low hospital beds that have a 1000 lb. weight capacity (9" from deck to floor) and will rise to 24", then add the height of the mattress. Other high low hospital beds can expand from 39" in width to 48".and can be used as Gurneys. Hospital Beds with and without Trendelenburg, Reverse Trendelenburg and Cardio Chair options.
