The Sleeper Lounge Bed will be a fully electric Adjustable Bed with heavy duty casters, a Plywood Deck, Back and Leg Adjustments as well as a High-Low Feature. The reason for a High-Low Feature is to help people in and out of bed, or to transfer to a wheelchair, or to assist a Nurse in turning a Patient. Many of our Center's need a real, low hospital bed for Patients who may be prone to fall or may have Alzheimers.

Mattress is made by
Blue Chip Medical

request they have designed a special Bariatric Mattress for Sleep Centers
that will support the "heavy weight" and yet be comfortable for the
average person. The mattress is 8" thick that is the max for an
adjustable bed. The bottom 1/2 of the mattress is flexible hard core and
the upper part is special foam. This means that the mattress will not
bottom out when a Bariatric patient sleeps in the bed. The mattress will
have a water resistant Anti Bacterial washable cover which you need for
hospitals.
I

Gendron
as
a supplier for most of the Bariatric equipment that is needed. This is a
company that has been manufacturing equipment since 1872. Gendron has
recognized the need and has been manufacturing Bariatric Equipment at a
reasonable cost. An exceptional company, very reliable and makes
excellent equipment.
Gendron Maxi-Rest Beds for Bariatric Patients.
Model# 4748DX 750 lbs. (1000 lb on drawing board and not available at this
time). Bed will expand from 39" X 80" to 48" X 88", Head and foot boards
are finished in Beachwood. Change size easily without having to transfer
patient. Easy to transport and store when not in use.
This is the bed of the future available today. Has my top recommendation. Gendron has kept the quality up and the cost down.
Another Bed Choice..Big Boyz Industries

a 1000 lb capacity bed that is either 48"-54" or 60" X 80". Has multiple
positions, Battery Back up, Trapeze, 1/2 side rails, length can extend to

Bariatric Walker
Non-folding walker features 850 lb capacity. Measures 22" between the
arm grips. Has a separate kit for adding wheels but the weight drops to
500 lbs.
