We welcome you into the family of Electropedic Hospital beds. We are
a family owned company since 1964. We are members of the BBB. We
have made "Your comfort is everything!" our only business for over
43 years now. We are also the manufacturer of the Electropedic
Adjustable
Bed so we know a lot about hospital beds (they both electrically elevate
your back and the legs the same way; and help people with Muscular, Nervous,
Bone, Circulatory, Respiratory and Heart problems.) We also have a
Hospital
Bed Specialist, Elaine Latham at (800)477-0248 who works directly
with the Public, Nurses, Caregivers, Hospitals, Bariatric and Sleep Clinics.
She can help people who may need more than just a standard hospital
bed and she is probably the "World's Most Caring Person" in addressing your
many sleep and mattress needs; whether it be simple "Senior" Problems, Obesity,
. . to complete Disability. Please call
Elaine Latham at (800)477-0248 or
email your responses
to the following points:
Is this for you?
_________Height |
_________Weight |
_________Age |
What Health or Pain Problems do you have?
Would you be interested in a third (whole-bed) High-Low motor?
Do you need to transfer to a Wheelchair?
Do you have a Caregiver? or use a
Patient-Lift?
Are side (half) rails important?
Is a trapeze bar important?
Is the person disabled?
Is Trendellenburg and Reverse Trendellenburg Important?
Would the person be interested in a Cardio-Recline function?
Are Bed Sores a Concern?
Is it important if the bed goes to a very low position?
A standard hospital bed has two motors where
you can electrically elevate your back and your legs to any position you
desire (although you are also given a manual crank up-and-down function);
a fully electric hospital bed has 3 motors that allows you to electrically
adjust the whole bed up and down.
The third motor (fully electric) is helpful if you need to transfer to a
wheelchair (so the hospital bed can be at the same level of the wheelchair.)
Also it can assist a caregiver to get you at the right height for the
caregiver. If you are short, a low bed is helpful to help you get into
bed. A low bed can also be helpful if you feel someone may ever fall
out of bed. Low beds go as low as 7" to 9" without the mattress.
Although all hospital beds elevate and bend the legs to help with circulatory
problems and low back pain, some doctors recommend trendellenburg and
Cardio-Chair reclining functions.
 Trendellenberg
slants the whole body flat with the feet up and the back down; or reverse
trendellenburg that does the opposite. Trendellenburg also helps a
caregiver and the patient themselves to self-boost and re-adjust their body's
position on the hospital bed.
Cardio-Chair Reclining features of
theTransfer-Master
Sleeper Lounge
or Tri-Flex
help maintain comfort, respiratory and circulatory functions. Cardio-Chair
reclining positions are also used in pain avoidance positioning creating
pressure relief that may also ultimately help to prevent decubitus ulcers.
If someone is disabled, Cardio-Chair Reclining features are surely
an added benefit.
If Bed Sores (Stages I-IV) are a concern, there are many advanced technology,
special therapeutic support, alternating air and Lateral Rotation Therapy
mattresses available. W would recommend, for one, the fine mattresses
from Blue Chip.
A standard hospital bed comes with your choiceof vinyl covered innerspring
or foam Mattress. Most hospital bed manufactures also have available
a very fine, specialized selection of mattresses for your individual needs.
Since "half" your comfort will come from the mattress you select, we
must go over your preferences, needs, age, weight and health problems to
get you the best night's sleep possible.
Half Rails, Full Rails, Headboard & Footboard, Trapeze Bar, bottom fitted
sheets, Mattress (waterproof available) Pads, Bed Tray, Locking Casters,
BatteryBack-up, Scales, Extra Support Mattress Edges, Low and High-Profile
Mattresses, . . are some of the options available.
At Electropedic, we also go out of our way to find the right size and style
hospital bed for you. All features combine to promote patient independence,
improving psychological well being, and ease for both patient and caregiver.
We sell direct to the public
and to many hospitals, sleep
centers and
bariatric
facilities. Elaine is trully a Bariatric Heavy Duty Hospital Bed
Specialist.
